Who Are We?

Autism Asperger ACT Inc. is committed to improving the understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) within the local community and the effect upon families / carers of a person with ASD. We aim to provide support for those families through sharing our time and the information we have on this disability. We strive to achieve the best educational outcomes for our children while seeking to better understand the causes of their autism in a mutually supportive group.

ASD includes Autism; Asperger Syndrome; and Pervasive Development Disorder - Not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS). It is a neurobiological disorder that affects the way a person communicates; socialises; processes information and adapts to the environment around them.

Autism Asperger ACT is a non-profit, parent run organisation which relies on the voluntary work of its members. Unlike other autism associations in Australia it does not receive any direct government funding.
